Why should I be taking an Omega3 Daily supplement?

by Terry Johnston

Daily nutritional supplements are almost a necessity in this modern day and its because of a lifestyle so many of us are required to live. Running around at 90 miles an hour simply to exist; working long hours, rushing home to do our daily chores.

The thing that usually suffers the most from this busy lifestyle is our diet. We don't always have the time to prepare good healthy fresh food and resort to fast food drive-thru, and take out. When we do eat at home much of the time it's TV dinners and other sorts of precooked, processed foods. Convenient-of course-but it doesn't have the nutrients, essential oils, vitamins, and minerals that fresh food has and consequently our bodies develop nutritional deficiencies.

Getting the necessary nutrients for a great range of health benefits is easily accomplished by taking Omeg3 daily.

When a product becomes popular and is the clear leader in its field, imitators crawl out of the woodwork. There are many versions of Omega 3 supplements. The ones rich in DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are the ones you are looking for.

Of the 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids represented in Omega 3. ALA (a-linolenic acid), EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), and DHA,(docosahexaenoic acid). DHA that has the greatest impact on health.

Increasing levels of DHA is accomplished by consuming it. This important chemical is not easily manufactured by our bodies.

The 1970s brought in research of the Greenland Eskimo. Their diet was examined and clearly revealed the true value of Omega 3. Up until that time no one understood how Eskimos avoided coronary heart disease with a diet rich in fish and fish eating mammals, but with little or no fresh vegetables--how could this be? Scientists were able discern it was the Omega 3 oils and fatty acids in their food that was protecting the Eskimo.

It was soon recognized that an Omega3 daily supplement should be a part of everyone's healthy diet as a way of reducing heart attack levels. The Canadian government gave it a further boost, by approving it as supplement for improved brain function and vision health,

Additional Eskimo studies, has shown solid medical evidence showing it produces:

reduced triglyceride levels, lower blood pressure. Omega 3 is a natural blood thinner preventing clots which helps prevent heart attack.

Additional Benefits of Omega 3:

better mental function, enhanced vision, enhanced immune system, better circulation, reduced risk of stroke and thrombosis, pain relief of rheumatoid arthritis, vastly reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety, prevention and/or treatments of certain types of Cancer, including:

*breast cancer

*prostate cancer

*colon cancer

Diverse benefits-such as these-are making taking Omega3 daily the talk of health and fitness gurus all over. It is hardly surprising Omega3's popularity is increasing.

Where does Omega 3 come from?

The richest source of omega 3 fatty acids is from fish. Certain plants, gains and nuts do have oemga3, but not the DHA found in higher concentrations only in fish.

Some fish contain harmful toxins like PCBs (Polychlorinated biphenyls) and Mercury and because the best source of DHA rich Omega 3 is from fish. You must-when choosing an Omega 3 supplement-make sure it contain only 100% purified fish oil free from all toxins.

The highest concentrations of DHA content is found in Hake. A fish native to the waters surrounding Australia and New Zealand. Other oily fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel contain good levels of omega 3 oils, but Hake shows the best concentration of DHA.

When choosing an omega 3 supplement to take; one containing Hake fish oil is an excellent choice.

Omega3 daily supplements are probably the most important supplement that you can take.

With all the benefits, will you ever need any other supplement other than omega 3 fish oil? Most likely not.
